port 3 installed on your HP notebook can be used to connect other devices or
not. I realize the importance of this issue and will make sure that I give you

I would like to let you know that the expansion port 3.0 installed on your HP
Notebook can only be used for connecting to the
HP Expansion base (ES234AA#ABA) or
QuickDock (ES631AA#ABA). However, the expansion base that you
will connect to your HP notebook will have to be compatible with your notebook.
The expansion base will allow you to use the following features on your HP
notebook. These devices are designed for the needs of consumers and small-office
professionals, it will not only elevate your notebook into the starring role but
take computing beyond the bounds of your old desktop PC. You'll be turning your
notebook into a multimedia control center, enhancing the sound of music and
movies, saving space on your desk, and getting rid of cord clutter.
• Use your notebook's display as your monitor; it's easy to adjust it to
a comfortable height
• Stay connected to peripherals, power, and the Internet through a
single connection1 supplying six USB ports, an Ethernet port, and a
power jack
• Make your notebook a multimedia powerhouse with stereo sound from the
integrated premium Altec Lansing speakers
• Connect to your home entertainment system via a variety of audio and
video out ports2
• Operate cable-free and work more comfortably with the full-sized
wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse
• Charge your notebook battery while connected to the expansion base
(using your notebook's AC adapter)
• Control media and presentations from the palm of your hand when using
the HP Mobile Remote Control (sold separately)
• Expand your storage with the preformatted, high-capacity hard drive
accessory kit (sold separately)
